B-DAY GIFT && HAUL

Last month I hardly spent any money on anything besides food. I think this month I should treat myself to a few more items and start saving on all those food costs! My birthday recently passed and here are some gifts I have received from some very special people :)
I went home on my birthday and spent majority of my day at home with my family. I later went out to grab some patio drinks with a few of my girlfriends.
After coming home, I received a belated gift from my two amazing roommates! Here's what they got me :)

I haven't used the nail kit yet, but it looks adorable! Their card was really silly and cute! And the Juicy Couture perfume smells great, Im not too fond of the lipgloss though!
My best friend recently came to visit me and I found these amazing gifts on my bed after work! :) A brow kit (perfect since I actually needed one!) and a souvenir cup from Vancouver !

Lately, I've been becoming obsessed with prints on my clothing, particularly floral that looks like sketches. In mainly blue and white. You'll know what I mean when you see what I purchased! Majority of the items I bought are from Forever 21, they had an extra 30% off on sale items!

 H&M Floral Shorts - $12.95 CAD

 Forever 21

 Forever 21

This is actually my first purchase from Artitiza !
I am in love with anything matcha/green tea related! These delicious asian treats definitely satisfies my tastebuds ! Pocky and Kitkat!
Enjoy ! :)

SUMMERLICIOUS: FORTUNA

[07.12.13]
This morning I spent my day studying and running errands. I recently discovered a Good Will Outlet near my house, so I decided to check it out. Little did I know it was just a big room filled with tons of containers full of clothes and what not. The place was smelly and the pile of clothes was scattered everywhere. Definitely not your typical Good Will store. Sadly I found nothing during my thrift finds.
This is what I wore during the day! Something simple and easy to wear.

After my boyfriend got off work, we decided to participate in Summerlicious.
Discover the finest dishes in the city at one of Toronto’s favourite culinary celebrations. Enjoy delicious three-course prix fixe menus at 195 of the city’s top restaurants, all at fantastic price points.
After spending 2.5 hours searching the web to find the one restaurant I wanted to try, I settled for Fortuna Ristorante at Yorkville. - 12 Cumberland Street, Toronto -
Since we both agreed to dress up, this is what I decided to wear tonight! I'm not going to lie. I've been obsessing over this cardigan the moment I laid eyes on it, and it has already been 3 days and I am still not wiling to let go of it. I will shamelessly continue to wear it!
Cross Necklace - Aldo Accessories // Grey Top - Forever 21 // Cardigan - Forever 21// Golden Leaf belt - H&M // High low skirt - Forever 21 //

Here's the Summerlicious menu! There was a few option for each section!
My first pick was the Calamari Grigliati. My boyfriend choose to order Misto.
I'm not sure if you're familiar with the Jack Astor or Moxie's Calamari, but thats what I imagined it to be when I ordered this. The calamari was good, nice and chewy but it was somewhat over cooked and you could taste the burnt parts. The side 'salad' lettuce was very warm too, so it tasted awkward.
I choose Salmone Atlantico which consists of salmon filet, grilled vegetables, and lemon butter sauce. When my food just arrived I panicked abit since I thought I'd still be hungry after eating this since the proportion of the food looks really small. No fear, it's actually very filling and very flavourful. The lemon butter sauce was a great final touch and the bottom of the salmon is nice and crunchy! I wish they gave us more vegetables though.

My boyfriend ordered the Fettuccine Di Caruso, which consists of Grilled chicken, mushrooms, prosciutto, parmesan, and cream sauce. This dish was definitely more filling and it was my second choice. The meal was good but definitely not worth it's regular price. The sauce was very creamy but they didn't offer as much noodles, the mushrooms were delicious though!
And lastly, for dessert we ordered Creme Brule and Tiramisu. The creme brule was delicious, the top layer was crunchy and sweet and the bottom layer was very soft and creamy. The tiramisu was very creamy in the middle and the choco powder did wonders to the cake.

By the time we got into the restaurant the place was almost fully packed. A few people were hosting birthday celebrations, so the place was very noisy. The atmosphere was nice and romantic and the servers were very kind. The layout was simple and easy to understand, however their patio seats could use some upgrading in terms of their furniture. I was dumb enough to listen to the summerlicious website and not book a reservation in advance, but luckily the server did her best and found a seat for us, so we got lucky! Overall the place was great and the food was decent. However I think this was more for a one time experience I will most likely not go back.
Enjoy!

[20.06.13]

[20.06.13] EXPLORING TO:
I spent the entire day walking around and exploring the shopping areas in Toronto with my two friends who came to visit me. We went from China town area towards Dundas and back and forth (don't ask why, aha!) Prepare for all the snap shots I took throughout the day !
My best friend and I stopped by this boutique on Queen Street West since I noticed a sale going on. Everything in the store is typically $20 and under. Definitely clothing directly immolated from China. I ended up purchasing a maxi skirt (I can't get enough!) which I will show you guys later in the future :)

I tried mango madness, it tasted good! But red velvet cake tea is definitely my favourite!

It's always necessary to have a cute tourist photo of Dundas Square ! We did a little shopping too!
 Graffiti art on Kensington Market
Before heading out, we checked on Groupon (a discount website) for any good deals that we can use during our little adventure. We managed to find a Groupon for MODO: Fruit and Tea House on Spadina. The coupon was worth $14 for any 2 drinks and 2 desserts. Most certainly we'd order the most expensive items on the menu! The drinks were delicious and the desserts (waffle and ice cream) was pretty decent too! The interior of the cafe was all pitched black and very simple. Majority of the tables had a small vase of fake flowers. They also offer free wifi for their customers and games and magazines for entertainment. Check it out if you're int he Toronto area, and for sure grab the groupon offer! We saved around 50% off our total purchase!

Enjoy for now! There's also part 2 :)

[20.05.13] VICTORIA DAY

Happy Victoria Day to all my Canadians! :) A celebration in honour of Queen Victoria's birthday! Since majority of the malls, shops, ect wasn't open. My friends and I went out for dim sum, Menchies, and just chilled at my place and went swimming. I didn't end up going out later during the night to watch fireworks, but I could see them through my window! Must focus on school and work all this week!

I ended up getting fruit loop flavoured froyo, and bubble gum flavour, topped with graham cookie crumbles and sprinkles!

I stopped by T&T and purchased some black sesame ice cream and my favourite brand of kimchi ! The desserts were tempting though.

I finally had time to put up my polaroid pictures up in my room. I also cooked dinner tonight! I'm not a chief, so something as simple as an omelette, onion and mushroom, spam, kimchi and rice was achievable! (and delicious).
Enjoy!
